Sebastian Serafin

Hello! I'm Sebastian, a computer science student at Worcester State University

About Me

I am currently enrolled in the second semester of my senior year undergrad education. I have experience with a variety of languages and software, and I am always looking to learn and work with new technologies.

JAVA

Java is my personal language of choice and the one I have most experience with. I started with Java in highschool when I began to take beginner courses. Since then I have taken multiple college courses that use Java to teach important CS concepts such as data structures and algorithms. I also have experience working on my own personal Java projects, primarily in Android development.

PYTHON

I taught myself Python in college and I have used it for both scripting and writing personal projects. I also used Python professionally during my internship with Tech180, where I created multiple applications written entirely in Python

HTML/CSS

I have prior experience building a simple website from scratch as well modifying existing websites and website templates to fit my requirements

AUTODESK/CAD

I have experience using multiple Autodesk products in a previous job and in personal projects. I am well versed with Autocad LT and Fusion 360 and have experience with 3D CAD design.

3D Printing and Design

3D printing has become a huge hobby of mine, and I have used it as a tool to print things I need and also to teach myself 3D modeling so that I can model and create my own designs. I also use it to make income on the side by selling customizable prints online. Currently I am in the process of printing and building an open source 6-axis manipulator arm.

Professional Experience

    Software Engineer Intern at Tech180

  • Used Python, SQLAlchemy, and Solidworks API to help build a program that uses a database system model to programmatically assemble a 3D CAD mockup of that specific system, allowing customers and technicians to see a 3D model of the systems before they are assembled
  • Created a program that converts the completed 3D CAD models into labeled 2D technical drawings, giving the systems engineers and technicians a more detailed document to work with as well as the ability to visualize the affects of changes much faster than before
  • Created and implemented a method of mating model components that reduced the overall complexity of the model assembly process by reducing the amount of edge cases the program needed to account for
  • Maintained the 3D/2D model creation code and add features as new requirements arose
