Helping Hands
Helping Hands is an app prototype that my partner Christian Shadis and I built during the 36 hour hackathon Hack@WPI 2021. It runs on android and was developed using Java and XML.
The purpose of this app is to encourage peer to peer charity in the Worcester area, and enable regular people to do charitable acts directly, instead of relying on charities or other organizations to do it for them. Helping Hands connects those in need with those who are willing and able to help out through donations, volunteering, and many acts of kindness.
While the app lacks some functionality due to time constraints it was a fantastic learning experience and it laid the foundation for any projects that we may work on in the future.
